Different types of core foam use differently:
1. In terms of thermal insulation: The thermal conductivity of ordinary plastic products is mostly in the range of 0.15 ～ 0.22W / (m, K), while the thermal conductivity of foam plastic is generally in the range of 0.01 ～ 0.04W / (m.K) , 15 to 50 times lower than ordinary plastic products, and has very excellent thermal insulation properties. The resins commonly used as thermal insulation foam products are rigid PU, PF, urea formaldehyde and PS. Use under high temperature, pay attention to the heat-resistant temperature of different varieties in specific selection. PS and PVC should be selected at low temperature, and PU and PF should be selected at high temperature. Urea-formaldehyde foam has good thermal insulation, and has the advantages of flame retardancy, low price, and wide source. However, it is widely used because of its brittleness and serious water absorption. Now it can be widely used in building insulation to reduce the heat loss of the house by 70%.
2. In terms of sound insulation: The core material foam plastic has excellent sound insulation performance, and is increasingly important in the field of sound insulation applications. Sound insulation foam plastic is specifically used in movie theaters, theaters, concert halls and other wall decoration materials and ceiling materials. Foam plastic with good sound insulation is used to absorb sound to prevent echoes and affect sound quality. It is made of foam material in the interior partition walls of buildings Sound insulation effect. Commonly used foam materials for sound insulation include PU flexible foam materials, PS beads, PVC (emulsion), PF and PE.
3. In terms of shock resistance: Foam plastic products are a good shock absorbing material, which can be used as high-end packaging materials, such as packaging materials for fragile products, household appliances and precision instruments. Shock-resistant foam materials include EPS, PE, soft and semi-soft PU. Use of high resilience: Most foam plastics with high expansion ratio have good resilience, and some varieties also have high resilience, which can be used in sports equipment, soles, sofas and cushions. There are two types of foams with high resilience: PU and PE, and soft PU foam is most commonly used.
4. The use of lightweight and closed cells. Floating materials require the relative density of the foam to be small and must be a closed-cell foam with a high expansion ratio. The resins that can be used for floating foam are mainly PVC, PE and PS. For open-celled microcellular foam, it has the property of permeating liquid, and can be used as filter material, water absorbing material, and flower transplant material. Specific usable resins include F4, cellulose acetate, nitrocellulose, PA, PVC and PP. Most core foams have the advantage of being soft and strong, and can be used as shoulder pads for clothing. Specifically available are PE and PU flexible foams.
