High-performance foams are gaining share in markets that include transportation, electronics, healthcare, industrial equipment, consumer equipment, construction, boots, and sports products. The main reasons are the light weight of this plastic and the cushioning properties of conventional foams, combined with high strength, thermal and flame retardant properties, damping properties, chemical resistance and biological inertness.

Core foam high-performance blasting polymers include polyurethanes, polyolefins, silicones, fluoropolymers, benzene-based polymers and other engineering polymers. Among them, some materials have superior mechanical properties, heat resistance and chemical stability; other materials use molecular chain chemical modification, cross-linking treatment or adding special fillers to improve the performance of materials. Core foam High-performance foams are blasted by standard methods such as chemical blowing agents and physical blowing agents (typically hydrocarbon or fluorocarbon).

High-performance foams are more competitive than non-foamed plastics, metals, natural or synthetic rubbers. Foamed materials can be used in gaskets, sealing products, thermal shielding, shock and vibration gaskets, auxiliary equipment and electromagnetic shielding devices for EMI/RFI.

In fact, there is no precise definition of high-performance foam materials, so it is difficult to estimate the market share of its products.
